Lifeline

Delete your Lifeline account

You can delete your Lifeline account (the app by Konstantin Tikhaev) and everything in it at any time, in the app or by email.

Before you delete

Deleting is permanent: your memories can't be recovered afterwards. If you want to keep them, export them first: in the app, open the menu (⋮) > Profile > My data > Whole archive. You get one ZIP with every memory as text, plus your photos, videos and voice notes. It's free.

In the app

  1. Open Lifeline and tap the menu (⋮) at the top right.
  2. Open Profile.
  3. At the bottom, tap Delete Account and confirm by holding the button. You may be asked to sign in again first.
  4. If you signed in with Apple, confirm once more with Apple; Lifeline then asks Apple to revoke its access to your Apple ID.

By email, without the app

Write to founder@theplacewelive.org from the email address of your Lifeline account, with the subject "Delete my account". If you can't write from that address, tell us the address of the account; we may ask you to confirm that it's yours. We delete the account within 30 days of your request, usually much sooner, and write back when it's done.

What is deleted

Deletion from our database and file storage happens right away. Recovery copies and backups are deleted within 40 days, and our server logs expire within 30 days.

What is kept, and for how long

Subscriptions

Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Premium subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings, otherwise the store will keep charging you.
